A North Carolina native, Lance Whitner headed to Colorado to study art, fell in love with the Rocky Mountain landscapes and stayed. Today, her paintings are joyful expressions of the natural world around her Steamboat Springs studio...from fall's golden aspens through winter's snow-covered peaks, spring's wildflowers and summer's green vistas. She begins each painting with a charcoal sketch, adding layers of color and working in playful shifts in perspective that beckon a closer look. Each is like a window into the great outdoors infused with Lance's boundless joy and delight in nature's marvels.
